About Ross Collins

I am an amateur photographer living in Wellington, New Zealand, and a member of the New Zealand Photographic Society and the Wellington Photographic Society.

The photos posted here are a broad representation of the images I am capturing from day to day, covering a wide variety of subject matter including travel, landscapes, streetscapes, sport and music events, and anything else that comes along. Equipment usually carried on photo shoots comprises:

* Sigma 12 - 24mm f/4.5 - 5.6 DG HSM ultra-wide to wide angle zoom
* Canon EF 24 - 70mm f/2.8L USM medium zoom
* Canon EF 70 - 200mm f2.8L IS USM telephoto zoom
* Canon EF 2X Extender II teleconverter
* Canon Speedlite 580EX flash unit
* Manfrotto 679B monopod
* SanDisk Ultra II 2GB and 4GB SD, Extreme III 4GB SDHC and 16GB CF, and Kingston Elite Pro 16BG CF memory cards
* Tamrac Expedition 7 backpack

Other equipment used on shoots on an as-required basis includes:

* Manfrotto 055DB tripod and 029 head
* Lightsphere II PJ flash diffuser
* Apple MacBook, 2.4GHz, 13.3" display, 250GB hard drive - image storage/viewer

My post-production processes utilise:

* Adobe Photoshop Lightroom v2.3 - raw conversion, and image cataloguing/management/manipulation
